The export of flowers and plants was in the first eight months of 2017 higher than ever before. Until august Holland exported already more than 4,2 milliard euros.
The border of 4 milliard euros was never exceeded so early in the year, according to branch organisation VGB.
The export in the first eight months of this year has grown with 6 precent, compared to last year. The flower export market has even grown with a percentage of 7 percent which is equal to 2,6 million euros. The exportation of plants has a value of 1,6 milliard euros, which is an increase of 4 percent compared to last year.
The flower and plants sector takes advantage of the economic recovery in different areas of distribution. On the other hand a declining demand outside the Eurozone is threatening because of the more expensive European currency.
